OC&G community, a cultural flashback...?
In your opinion, what old (er) songs, movies or literature are still relevant to our culture/society today?
Obviously, 1984 is insanely relevant but here are a few others;
*Great Expectations (novel) -Timeless classic about poor boy who does good, but it has some unexpected twists.
*Glamorous Life (song) by Sheila E. -The lyrics are referenced in quite a lot of pop culture and the song meaning is relevant to the alpha woman/female our society has become accustomed to.
*A Clockwork Orange (film) -Ever been on youtube? Then you'd guess why I made this obvious choice.
There’s tons of material out there that have a timeless quality to them. My picks would be:
Pride and Prejudice - Is a book about human nature really, and I’m sure this will forever resonate with people from all walks of life. Especially women.
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On. Another classic.
Gone With the Wind. A movie that has already withstood the test of time.
